Most developers create unit tests to check whether the application's different sections work fine; not all check if the entire API has the correct behavior because of the complexity of the frameworks to write tests. Karate offers the possibility to do this type of testing using the approach of a black box in a simple and readable way. During this talk, you will see the relevance of creating integration/end-to-end tests so that the developers can change the application's behavior and simply detect possible problems. Most developers use different alternatives connected with some particular framework or library, so they must write all the tests again when they decide to move to another one.
Sobre Andres Sacco
Andres Sacco is a Technical Leader at TravelX and he has experience with many different languages, like Java, PHP, and NodeJs. In his previous job, Andres helped find alternative ways to optimize data transfer between microservices, which reduced the infrastructure cost by 55%. Before introducing these optimizations, he investigated different testing methods for better coverage than the unit tests of the microservices. He also dictated internal courses about new technologies and he has written articles on Medium. Andres is a co-author of the book Beginning Scala 3, from Apress.
