Documentation is the fastest and primary way to communicate a project's essence to a potential user. Technical documentations exist to help users to interact with the product effectively. However, engineers and technical writers forget that the most important focus of technical documentation is the user. Therefore write project documentations that do not foster understanding for the widest audience of users and contributors to the project. While this is not deliberate, it significantly influences how users and contributors perceive a project. In this session, I will discuss common mistakes made in most technical documentation and introduce strategies for effective documentation.
