Thank you, Chile: how we lived our third edition of Nerdearla in Santiago
🌐 Leer en español

After three editions, we can finally say it with confidence: Santiago feels like home. We're still processing everything that happened at the Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center (GAM): more than 2,400 people came in person and over 5,000 joined online from across Latin America.

Every full auditorium, every hallway turned into an impromptu meeting room, every greeting between people who met right there or were reuniting after a long time apart. That's exactly what we came for.

A community that grows edition after edition

Developers, data scientists, students who are just starting out, professionals with 20+ years on the job. All in the same space, talking about what they're passionate about. If anything was clear over those three days, it's that the Chilean tech ecosystem has a particular energy: there's a real hunger to learn, to share, to build things together. That doesn't come from a corporate office; you can only feel it on the ground.

"Super happy with this third edition and grateful to the Chilean community that always welcomes us so warmly." — Eduardo Casarero, Nerdearla organizer

Speakers who took our stage

"One of the things we're proudest of this year is the line-up. We had names that shaped the history of software sharing the stage with local voices that are building the present and future of the industry in Chile and the region." — Ariel Jolo, Nerdearla organizer

And alongside them, more than 50 voices from the community: from Google Developer Experts and AWS Heroes to makers, researchers, product designers, SREs and engineers who came to share what they're building. The full list is on our speakers page.

"The presence of companies like Google and Amazon, with talks, workshops and networking spaces, also made one thing clear: the world is starting to look at Chile as an emerging tech hub in Latin America." — Javier "Jassu" Severini, Nerdearla organizer

It's worth saying out loud: Nerdearla is, and will keep being, free. That's only possible thanks to the companies that bet on the community so anyone, regardless of their situation, can walk through the door and learn.

See you in 2027

To see how this edition of Nerdearla in Chile played out, here's our recap video and all the photos in the gallery.

The question we heard the most over those days was "are you coming back next year?". The answer is yes. Nerdearla Chile is back in 2027, and we're bringing everything we learned across these three editions to make the next one even better.

To make the wait shorter, on May 14 we'd love to see you at our monthly #AdminChelas🍻 in Santiago.

See you soon, Chile. ❤️

With love, Team Nerdearla
